Teleportation to Places Around the World

Yes - Teleportation is now possible!

However, it is still in its infancy. The way that it is currently done is similar to how you likely meet and interact with friends and family members today - through Zoom or FaceTime.

However, this “teleportation” is much more real than that.

You won’t be talking with computer programed avatars like you would in Virtual Reality - you’ll be talking to actual people from those countries. You won’t be serving store bought “inspired-by-a-different-country” meals - you’ll be inviting a chef that is actually in that country into your home or workplace to walk you through the preparation, cooking, and presentation of authentic dishes. You won’t be on a “YouTube” tour of a famous landmark, you’ll be there - today - talking with the local guide who will be answering your questions and showing you the things that you want to see.

I’m talking about how real virtual experiences have become - especially after giving the global travel industry an entire year of “stay-at-home” requirements to balance. However, that being said, you can take your virtual experience like a plain cardboard-box freezer-section waffle or you can have an authentic fresh Belgian waffle with your favorite toppings. I’m not sure what you prefer, but I know we always go for the authentic fresh Belgian waffle to get the true experience!

So, before we tell you how to dodge the “freezer section” virtual experience and turn each of them into an authentic teleportation experience, let’s first understand why these Virtual Experiences are so amazing to begin with!

How to Make a Virtual Trip FEEL REAL

As you might imagine, a Virtual Trip cannot replace an actual trip completely. However, that is NOT the purpose of a Virtual Trip. There are many situations where a virtual trip makes perfect sense, and many others where it’s simply a much “easier” solution than booking an actual trip. As #10 on our list above states, a virtual trip can be a great solution to connect friends and family that are located in one place to others who are hundreds or thousands of miles away - we know, because we did it!

While “staying put” in Malaysia, we met up with family members in Chicago (USA) and Orlando (USA) to do a group tour together in Kyoto, Japan! We all followed through with the tour, walking through various temples and learning about the Shinto religion, asking questions along the way, and even helping each other out. Then, we got together afterward on Messenger to talk more about our trip.

It was such an amazing experience to get to do together - plus it was so accessible and simple to schedule - without interrupting any of our daily lives at all!

However, if you are trying to make it FEEL AS REAL AS POSSIBLE, you’ll find this guide excels beyond most other “Virtual Trip” articles because we show you how to trick your mind into actually feeling like you’re there. We pulled this trick out of the traditional holiday playbook - and that’s by using all 5 of your senses!

How Teleportation Works

For example, imagine for a moment what Christmas would look like if there were:

  • no decorations,

  • no music,

  • no smells,

  • no seasonal tastes,

  • and no presents.

It would still have a symbolic and religious meaning, it would still be a time to share the Christmas story that we are all familiar with, and it would still be a time to get together with friends and family. However, it might feel generic.

It would likely feel like you could just do it… virtually - and it wouldn’t be much different. A virtual Christmas party, so to speak.

If you do it wrong, that’s pretty much what a virtual tour will be. However, done right, your mind will be overloaded through your senses - with the visuals, sounds, smells, tastes, and the things that are connected with these experiences - that the authentic experiences with real people in those countries won’t feel like they are so far away.

After all, they ARE REAL and AUTHENTIC experiences from actual people in those countries - albeit on Zoom - but now they’ll also FEEL as if you're there as well.

So, imagine that “virtual Christmas party” now. You're not there physically (possibly a few hundred miles away), but ask yourself if it would feel more real to you after you’ve decorated your house with lights, trees, garlands, and wreaths, put on some holiday music, lit a seasonal candle, cooked a holiday meal, and wrapped a few presents.

For us, when we do this for ourselves while in a foreign country halfway around the world, we still feel like we are at home with our families as if they were right there with us

Just because they were on the other side of the screen didn’t diminish the experience by much. The spirit of our experience was strong - as we felt that nostalgic sense of what it means to be real - because our senses told us it was.

We had been “teleported” to each of their houses, and we all had a wonderful time together. An authentic experience, with authentic people, that also felt very authentic. That’s about as real as real.

EPCOT, DisneySea, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg

How real can “virtual” travel actually feel though… really? Well, have you ever been to Walt Disney World’s EPCOT theme park or Busch Gardens Williamsburg (aka “The Old Country” or “Busch Gardens Europe”) in the USA? Or possibly even Tokyo DisneySea in Japan? If so, then you know what a full version mockup of another country can feel like. Because each of these parks has done exactly that: recreated some other locations to make you feel like you're actually there by tantalizing your senses.

These specific theme parks have fully recreated entire areas that are dedicated to providing actual scenery, decorations, structures, music, food and beverages, merchandise, and even scents to the areas - so it FEELS absolutely real when you're there.

You're sitting at the Italy Pavilion,

  • seeing St. Mark's Campanile and a few gondola boats in front of you,

  • hearing the Italian music,

  • smelling and tasting authentic Italian food, wines, and gelato,

  • and checking out the unique and authentic Italian shops

  • with merchandise imported directly from Italy

  • all catered to you by authentic Italians working in that area on visa permits right there…

But not really Italy! It's actually in Orlando, Florida, USA. But it FEELS REAL.

Even themed restaurants do this!

So, when it comes to travel, it works the same way.

Thus, we've found some of the best virtual travel experiences out there and provided a number of recommendations on what to do to dress them up – like EPCOT, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, or Tokyo DisneySea have done – to make use of all of your senses while enjoying them.

Actually, we have no other competition in this realm yet… These articles are as close to teleportation as you can get!

So, get prepared and Enjoy!

Worth Every Penny

The experiences that you have are genuine experiences with authentic people in these countries. You might not physically be there in person, but sometimes that’s better. Maybe you only have a day to escape, or maybe you want to bring all of your friends and schedules just don’t mesh up. Perhaps you’re stuck inside due to a pandemic, or throwing a destination-themed event. Whatever the case may be, these experiences are much more affordable than going in person, much more accessible to people of all types, and also much more friendly to the environment.

Travel is essential, as it is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, so it is vital to make it available to everyone regardless of their situations in life.

These experiences are not only the best answer to these problems, but they can feel just about as real as being there in person. It’s not the “extras” that make these unique experiences great - as they are authentically given in-person from people from around the world - but the extras really do help bring the realism to your mind, body, and soul for a fraction of the cost and at just about any time that is convenient. We know you’ll be happily surprised! Enjoy!
