Travelversary – Month 2!

Month 2! We were able to find warmer weather this month and one of us got to visit a new continent! Read on to see our month in review.

Places visited: Marrakech, Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, and Capri. It was our first time to Morocco, and Jenny's first time to Africa. We spent a couple of days in hotels in Rome, but the rest of the time we were at Airbnbs. (If you missed our post on how American and European homes differ, click here to read it!) Does anyone know how we could get Airbnb to sponsor us? ;)

Things we were glad we packed: Hats! Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill were all amazing to see but there aren't a lot of areas to get out of the sun! Hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water were very important when visiting these historic sites.

Highlights of month 2: Exploring the underground in Naples, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri, and taking a day trip from Marrakech to Ouzoud Waterfalls.

Lowlights of month 2: Spending more on transportation when we could've saved with better planning.

Overall month two impressions:  Our budget got a little carried away this month, but we're going to be okay. It helps to plan ahead and have a cushion of savings for unexpected costs. We're learning what types of attractions are our must-dos and which ones we can skip if they don't fit into our schedule or budget.
